Be Kind Or Fck Off

Be Kind Or Fck Off

I bought this neon acrylic necklace two nights ago at a community cabaret for Trans Pride. That day I had been rudely ejected from a local communal garden space because people hate free women sitting peacefully, drawing and sleeping. We are the scourge of the universe, clearly.

Another line to add to my manifesto: Be Kind Or Fck Off. A nice summary of my approach in life - I’ll approach you with kindness and openness, and I expect the same of you. If you mean to cause harm, you can fck right off and I’ll tell you so.

We seem to live in a new echo chamber of liberal respectability politics, whether through deeming it unacceptable to call for the death of the Israeli Occupying Forces (but to still apparently want an end to Palestinian decimation, somehow) or me hearing someone rush to end racism with a classic “there are some very respectable [insert racialised group here] families round here!“

These words come out of the mouths of very same white people who thought they were the English revolution in the 1970s, overthrowing the strictures of the British Empire and getting some better music as a nice side benefit. How easily the British are nudged back to fascism by the drip-drip-drip of mainstream media and an oversized fear of dismantling our establishment.

So fck you respectability politics. I will be kind to you and yours, if you do the same to me and mine. And mine are every living and non-living thing that my rotten corrupt stinking state has shat upon.
